MAX JAHN
Max Jahn
Max Jahn (b. 1998, Berlin) is a self-taught painter working across scales, from large-format urban landscapes to intimate portraits and still lifes. His current work centers on small, precious canvases that emphasize still life and portraiture, suffused with quiet intensity. Earlier works depicted twilight scenes of garages, forests, and football fields — liminal spaces that reflect a fascination with atmosphere and suspension between familiarity and estrangement.
Growing up in Berlin, Jahn was surrounded by art, deeply influenced by his father’s antique and rare book store, which sharpened his sensibility for objects and aura. His paintings often emerge from his own photographs or his family archive, transfiguring memories into timeless, dreamlike images.
